Why we Dance
The first seed for Kristy Chapman's Ballet Studio was sown over 20 years ago when the founder was asked to choreograph a dance piece for kids for the Jungle Book, a local production in her hometown of Dubbo, NSW. Very soon a next-door neighbour who was in the piece asked to continue dancing. In 2005 this became the founders first dance school (Backyard Dancing) in the little town of Dubbo, NSW. Backyard Dance was a place for the kids in the neighbourhood to have fun, meet friends and dip their toes (or should I say pointe their toes) in the art form of dance.

The Studio's primary aims are to:
1. Foster a love and appreciation for Dance
People thrive on encouragement, enthusiasm and a challenge. Our aim is to have fun, meet new friends and learn to dance.
2. Build confidence in children and promote a healthy well-being
Each person has unique value and something wonderful to contribute. We encourage each other as we learn and care about a healthy self-esteem. This also includes learning about how our bodies move and work to train safe and impressive movement.

3. Offer wholesome classes
Our classes are taught with age-appropriate content. We desire to let kids be kids. We teach with age-appropriate dance moves, music and costumes in mind.

4. See students immersed in a rich, artistic ballet education
Quality class content and knowledge of dance technique.
