Theatre Jazz / Modern Jazz

Jazz dance developed on Broadway in the 1950s into the smooth style known today as Theatre Jazz or Modern Jazz. This style was popularized by Bob Fosse through his work in Broadway shows like Chicago, Cabaret, and Sweet Charity. Today, Theatre Jazz is still featured in large musicals such as Fame, Wicked, and Grease, as well as in TV shows.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance can be described as a blend of ballet and modern dance, focusing on natural movement. This style has speed change, abstract lines, self-expression and imagination. It builds core strength and versatility as a dancer.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a street dance style that originated in the Bronx, New York City, in the 1970s. Always changing, it’s a free, funky, and soulful expression of movement used by artists like Beyoncé, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo, Flo Rida, and Rihanna.
